bradyclaire (34 minutes ago [about 6:30pm EST]): “George Bush graduated from Yale. Where did Keith Olbermann go to school? Also, Iran’s president has stated that he wants to destroy Israel. How about Iran’s attempts to obtain a nuclear bomb? How about Iran’s support of the insurgents fighting our troops? I think our president has a bit more knowledge about the actual situation in the Middle East than a CNBC anchor. How about showing some respect for the US President? President Bush loves his country.”

My extended comment to bradyclaire’s statement:
Uh, wrong. Bush is a greedy asshole. He isn’t the first and he sure as hell wont be the last. He doesn’t care about his country because he is destroying the possibilities for millions of children to receive adequate health care. Where does one begin to express his or her care for the land? The first step is by caring about its people. When you care about your land, you must care about the future of the land, therefore, you must care for the children. Bush, up to this point, has not exhibited ANY behavior that supports this.
You, bradyclaire, are wrong with your assumption that Bush cares about his country. He cares about himself and his wallet. And not only that, but you reveal your lack of education by inaccurately stating that Keith Olbermann did not go to school by asking where Keith Olbermann went to school. Keith Olbermann went to Cornell University. If you don’t believe me, look it the fuck up.
And I would say that a news anchor, even without being to the middle east, has far greater knowledge of what is going on in the middle east because of co-workers and media-affiliates. President Bush does not even go out into the public on a day to day basis. Do you really think that he knows the extent of what is happening in the middle east? Do you really think he cares? You are trying to convince yourself of something that is not true, that you somehow think will come true if you wish hard enough.
President Bush gets NO respect in my book because he has not and does not represent, in any form, the core values upon which The United States of America was founded. He has instead gone against the values which founded our nation. Scientifically and logically speaking, President Bush can not be regarded as one who deserves respect for his achievements, at least by American citizens because Bush has deliberately and blatantly taken the role of a accusative patriarchal male hellbent on an offensive agenda for personal gain as opposed to the betterment of this country.
If you ask me, that is pretty fucking selfish. A President who deserves respect is a humble president and a compassionate, understanding, and logically thinking President. These are all things that President Bush is not.
I don’t care what anyone says about respecting authority. If the authority is single-handedly responsible for the destruction of the values that I have been raised on, you better bet your life that I am going to fight to make sure that my freedom stays. No freedom no peace. Why the fuck do you think they say that?
